Indonesian Democracy Index for Papua Province in 2021: Focus Group Discussion (FGD)

Since 2009, the Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) has been compiled by BPS in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, the National Growth Planning Agency, and the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide an overview of the country's democratic development. Focus Group Discussions are one of the data collection methods used for the IDI's compilation. The BPS of Papua held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, to compose the IDI for the Province of Papua in 2021, with representatives from government officials, security forces, journalists, political parties, NGOs, and student organizations in attendance. The event, which took place at Hotel Horison Ultima Jayapura, was a means to collect information related to the 6 indicators of IDI. Through this activity, we hoped that it will produce an IDI that truly describes the state of democracy in Papua Province.
