Provision of More Comprehensive Data on Businesses, Employment, and Regional Economic Potential for the People of Papua

The Head of BPS-Statistics of Papua Province, Adriana Helena Carolina held an audience with the Governor of Papua Province, Mathius D. Fakhiri on January 8, 2026, at the Governor’s Office. The meeting served as an early-year coordination forum as well as an opportunity to present BPS Papua’s strategic agenda, particularly the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) across Papua.

During the meeting, the importance of support and synergy from the provincial government was emphasized to ensure the successful implementation of SE2026, which aims to produce accurate and up-to-date economic data that reflect the real economic conditions of Papua. The results of this census will serve as a key foundation for formulating development policies that are more targeted and evidence-based.

The implementation of SE2026 is expected to generate direct benefits for the community, especially through the availability of comprehensive data on businesses, employment, and regional economic potential.
