Abstract

The number of labor force in New Guinea in February 2015 reached 1,709,668 persons, increased 34,555 people compared conditions August 2014.
Residents who work in New Guinea in February 2014 reach 1,646,057 people, 28,620 people increased in comparison to August 2014 and increase 15,838 people than State a year ago (Feb. 2014).
The number of jobless in February 2015 of 63,611 people, increases of 5,935 people compared to August 2014 and also increased as much as 4,800 people than State February 2014.
During the past year, the unemployment rate is open (TPT) in Papua has increased from 3.48 percent on February 2014 becomes the 3.72 percent in February 2015. Similarly, when compared to the August 2014 conditions increased from 3.44 percent to 3.72 percent.
In the last six months (August, 2014 February 2015), the number of workers in the industrial sector, trade, restaurants, accommodation and services as well as other sectors are experiencing a rise, while the number of workers in the agricultural sector and the civic, social and services individuals experiencing a decline.
Out of a total population of 1,646,057 people working in February 2015 in Papua, most major job status is as unpaid workers/workers ' family (34.12 per cent). The other main employment status which has a percentage above 10 per cent i.e. attempt assisted labour not fixed/not paid (28.12 per cent), workers/employees (21.57 percent), and trying to own (14.01 percent). The status of labor assisted trying stay/labor paid and the status of the non agricultural workers as well as non farm has a small percentage of about less than one percent.
In February 2015, the number of people working in over 35 hours per week (full time worker) in Papua is 899,969 people or about 54.67 percent of the total population that is working.
According to the highest level of education ditamatkan, workers in Papua is still dominated by workers with the highest level of education ELEMENTARY SCHOOL down the amount reaching 930 thousand people (56.42 percent) in February 2015.
TPT February 2015 highest in Papua occurred on the unemployed with secondary school education level to reach 10.30 percent.
