EXPORT
Ø The total export value of Papua in February 2016 was US $ 70.88 million or 10.04 percent smaller than the total export in January 2016.
Ø Compared to the February 2015 export value of US $ 85.05 million, the February 2016 export value decreased 16.67 percent.
Ø In February 2016 three types of export commodities were recorded, namely the export of Copper Ore & Concentrates (HS26) valued at US $ 66.94 million; exports of Wood & Wood Goods (HS44) of US $ 3.92 million and other non-oil and gas US $ 0.01 Million.
Ø The export value of HS26 in February 2016 decreased by US $ 7.61 million compared to its value in the same month of the previous year; while HS44 exports were less than US $ 6.52 million from its value in February 2015.
Ø Exports to the six main countries in February 2016 were valued at US $ 66.94 million, down 6.38 percent from their value in January 2016. The value of exports to other countries also dropped from US $ 7.29 million in January 2016 to US $ 3.94 million in January 2016.
Ø Compared to its value in February 2015, exports to the six main countries in February 2016 fell by 10.20 percent; and exports to other countries fell by 62.50 percent.
IMPORT
Ø Imports increased by 52.92 percent in February 2016, from US $ 37.96 million in January 2016 to US $ 58.04 million the following month.
Ø January 2016 cumulative imports worth US $ 96.00 million or 11.83 percent lower than the value in the same period in 2015.
Ø The import value of the 10 main non-oil and gas groups in February 2016 was US $ 42.55 million; while other non-oil and gas imports were valued at US $ 4.47 million.
Ø In cumulative Jan-Feb 2016, imports of 10 main non-oil and gas groups valued at US $ 78.23 million or US $ 11.52 million lower than the value in Jan-Feb 2015.
Ø Imports from seven main countries in February 2016 valued at US $ 40.25 million; while imports from other countries were valued at US $ 17.80 million.
Ø Import values from the seven main countries decreased by 18.92 percent, from US $ 90.27 million in Jan-Feb 2015 to US $ 73.19 million in Jan-Feb 2016.
