Abstract

EXPORT

Ø the export Value of Papua in July 2016 reached u.s. $101,15 million or experienced a decrease of 45.46 percent compared to June 2016 that exports amounted to US $185,47 million.

Ø cumulatively export value of Papua from January to July 2016 reached US $775,85 million or 34.30 percent decline compared to the same period in 2015 amounting to US $1180,85 million.

Ø the largest export Decline occurred at the other Non oil and gas amounted to US $0.11 million (81.37 percent), followed by the export of Goods of wood Wood & (HS44) of US $6.42 million (59.88 percent) and exports of copper Ore concentrate (HS26) & amounting to 77,79 million (US $44.55 percent).

Ø the cumulative rate of export of Papua from January to July 2016 experienced a decline in the export of copper concentrates, plywood, and non oil and gas more than the same period in 2015, where each dropped by US $325,20 million, US $31,40 million, and US $48,40 million.

Ø the export of Papua to the main Six Nations in July 2016 reached US $96,83 million or declined 45.06 percent compared to its value in June 2016. Exports to the Philippines reached the largest number i.e. US $37,37 million, followed India US $25.92 million and South Korea US $16,93 million.

Ø cumulatively, exports to the six major countries Papua in January-July 2016 compared to the same period in the year 2015 i.e. decline of 30.74 percent; Similarly, with exports to other countries dropped to 62.89 percent.

IMPORT

Ø the value of Papua in July 2016 imports reached US $47,80 million or declined 43.96 percent compared the previous month which was worth US $85,28 million.

Ø cumulatively the import value of Papua from January to July 2016 reached US $395,69 million or declined 2.73 percent compared to the same period in 2015 to reach US $406,82 million.

Ø In a percentage of 10 the non oil and gas imports, the value of a variety of major chemical products (HS38) is the largest decline stuff that is of US $1.25 million (72.98 percent), followed by the Plastic goods and goods from plastic (HS39) US $0.55 million (49.66%) and vehicles and parts thereof (HS87) amounting to US $2.05 million (46.98 percent).

Ø the value of imports of 10 major non oil and gas group in January-July 2016 increased 5.53 percent from its value in January-July 2015. The increase was driven by a rise in the value of imports of goods from the iron and steel (HS73) amounting to US $13,43 million (26.67 percent) and the machines/Aircraft Mechanic (HS84) of US $10,93 million (9.57 percent).

Ø the largest goods supplier of the three countries during July 2016 are Australia with a value of US $13,73 millions (28.72 percent), United States US $9.26 million (19.37 percent), and Malaysia US $6,61 million (13.82 percent).

Ø the cumulative Imports from seven major countries in January-July 2016 valued at US $311,95 million or declined by 4.67 percent compared to its value in January-July 2015 which is valued at US $327,23 million.
