Abstract

Summary

þ the number of labor force in Papua in August 2016 reached 1,722,162 persons, reduced 19,783 people compared conditions August 2015.

þ Inhabitants who work in Papua in August 2016 reached 1,664,485 persons, reduced 26,947 people compared to February 2016 and also reduced 7,995 people than State a year ago (August 2015).

þ the number of jobless in August 2016 of 57,677 people, reduced by 5,949 than February 2016 and also reduced as much as 11,788 people than State August 2016.

þ During the past year, the unemployment rate is open (TPT) in Papua has decreased from 3.99 percent in February 2015 be 3.35 percent in August 2016. So also if compared to March 2016 conditions improved from 2.97 percent to 3.35 percent.

þ In the last six months (August 2016 – February 2016), the number of workers in the industrial sector, trade, restaurants, accommodation services, civic services and other sectors are experiencing a rise in the number of workers, but the agricultural sector suffered the downturn.

þ From total population 1,664,485 people working in August 2016 in Papua, most major job status is as unpaid workers/workers ' families (around 32 per cent), followed by the status of labor assisted not strive/not paid (31 percent). As for the other main employment status which has a percentage above 10 per cent i.e. trying to own (14 percent), workers/employees (20 percent). The status of labor assisted trying stay/labor paid and the status of the non agricultural workers as well as non farm has a small percentage that is less than two percent.

þ in August 2016, the number of people working in over 35 hours per week (full time worker) in Papua was 1,015,843 people or about 61 percent of the total population that is working.

þ according to the highest level of education ditamatkan, workers in Papua is still dominated by workers with the highest level of education ELEMENTARY SCHOOL down the amount reached 952 thousand people (57 percent) in August 2016.

þ according to level of education, the highest August 2016 TPT in Papua in vocational secondary school who achieved 16.41 percent.
