A. General Description
Consumer Tendency index (ITK) is an indicator of current consumer economic development Central Bureau of statistics generated through Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is an index which describes economic conditions in consumer quarterly runs and upcoming quarterly estimates.
Samples of STK in Papua Province on the Quarter II-2017 is the household panel. The selection of the sample was done in panels between quarterly in order to obtain a more accurate picture regarding consumer perception changes between time. Respondents selected in STK strata blocks Census categories are based on wealth and high index and is a sub sample of National socio-economic Survey (Susenas) specialized in urban areas.
B. Quarterly Consumer economic conditions II-2017
"Ï In Quarter II-2017, Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) Papua amounting to 108.83 which means consumer economic conditions has increased compared to its condition in the previous quarterly.
"Ï its main consumer economic conditions Increased caused by rising household incomes now (105.83 index value) and the influence of inflation against the rate of consumption is also rising (107.07 index value) so that the level of consumption of the goods/services is increased (118.22 index value) result in the level of optimism is higher than Quarter I-2017.
C. Economic Forecasts Quarterly Consumer III-2017 the value of ITK Papua in Quarter III-2017 estimated at 103.86. This indicates that the consumer economic conditions in the coming quarter is estimated to increase but with a slightly declining optimism.
"The Increase occurred Ï due to an increase in household income (109.49 index value) despite the decline followed an estimated purchases of durable goods, recreational, and party/celebration by consumers (93.98 index value).
