Abstract

• In January 2019, the two CPI cities in Papua Province experienced a change in the index number in which Jayapura experienced inflation of 0.26 percent and Merauke experienced a deflation of 0.01 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 140.95 each and 141.00.

• Jayapura City ranks 51st at the national level and 11th at the Sulampua level (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua), while Merauke ranks 74th at the national level and 16th at the Sulampua level.

• Calendar year inflation in Jayapura City in January was 0.26 percent and year on year inflation (January 2019 to January 2018) was 8.19 percent. Merauke calendar year inflation in January 2019 was -0.01 and year on year inflation (January 2019 against January 2018) was 4.51 percent.
