Abstract

Human development in Papua continues to progress. In 2018, the Human Development Index (HDI) of Papua will reach 60.06. This figure increased by 0.97 points or grew 1.64 percent compared to 2017. Papua's HDI changed its status from the "Low" Category to the "Medium" category.
Babies born in 2018 have the hope to be able to live up to 65.36 years, 0.22 years longer than the previous year.
Children who in 2018 are 7 years old have hopes that they can enjoy education for 10.83 years, 0.29 years longer compared to 2017.
Meanwhile, residents aged 25 years and over have on average been educated for 6.52 years, 0.25 years longer than the previous year.
In 2018, people in Papua meet the necessities of life with an average expenditure per capita of 7,159 million rupiah per year, an increase of 163 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
