Abstract

In September 2024, the level of spending inequality in Papua Selatan Province, measured by the Gini ratio, was 0.424. This is an increase of 0.020 points compared to March 2024, when the Gini ratio was 0.404.
In urban areas, the Gini ratio in September 2024 was 0.351, rising by 0.052 points from 0.299 in March 2024.
In rural areas, the Gini ratio in September 2024 was 0.429, which is a slight decrease of 0.006 points from 0.435 in March 2024.
Using the World Bank’s measure of inequality, the bottom 40% of the population in Papua Selatan Province accounted for 13.68% of total spending. By area, urban residents in this group contributed 18.12%, while rural residents contributed 12.91%.
