Consumer Price Index of Papua on Desember 2014

In December 2014 the second city in the province of Papua CPI inflation. Jayapura city experienced a 4.26 percent inflation with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 120.20, and Merauke experienced 4.53 percent with CPI inflation at 123.90.

Of the 82 cities all cities experiencing inflation CPI (including the city of Jayapura and Merauke). The highest inflation was in Merauke 4.53 percent and the lowest occurred in the city of Meulaboh 1.17 percent. Jayapura City ranks second in both the national level and at the level Sumapua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua).

Monthly inflation rate of 4.26 percent Jayapura City, higher than the national monthly inflation rate of 2.46 percent, while the rate of inflation for the calendar year (January - December 2014) and inflation year on year (December 2014 to December 2013) the city of Jayapura amounting to 7.98 per cent, less than the inflation rate in the national calendar of 8.36 percent.

Inflation in Jayapura in December 2014 is due to the rising prices of goods and services indicated by the increase in the index in almost all expenditure groups: foodstuffs 9.8 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1.19 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 1.71 percent; clothing group 0.29 percent; health group at 0.06 percent; transportation, communication and financial services 5.86 percent. Meanwhile, education, recreation and sport did not increase the index number.

In December 2014 inflation core component of 0.91 percent, the inflation component that cost the government set a 7.28 percent and inflation was 11.21 percent volatile components. The rate of inflation year on year inflation in December 2014 to 4.59 per cent of the core components, the rate of inflation for that component of the government regulated price 17.53 percent and the rate of inflation to 9.61 percent volatile components.
