in October 2015 CPI both cities in Papua Province recorded changes of
different index numbers where the city of Merauke from Jayapura
deflation while experiencing inflation. Jayapura-0.05 percent deflation with consumer price index (CPI) inflation experienced in Merauke and 121.65 1.01 percent with CPI of 124.45.

From 82 city CPI recorded 38 cities suffered inflation (including
Merauke) and 44 cities suffered deflation (including the city of
Jayapura). The highest inflation occurs in Manado of 1.49 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Yogyakarta of 0.01 percent. The biggest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan, namely registration-1.95 percent and the deflation of the smallest occurred in Padang Sidempuan of 0.01 percent. Jayapura 48-ranked nationally and no. 11 at the rate of Sumapua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua). Meanwhile, Merauke is the third well at the national level and at the level of Sumapua.
Ø the monthly inflation rate in the city of Jayapura of-0.05 percent, higher than the national inflation of-0.08 percent. While monthly inflation Merauke of 1.01 percent, also higher than inflation. The rate of inflation is the calendar year (January – December) Jayapura of 1.21 percent, lower than the national rate of monthly inflation of 2.16 percent. While inflation in calendar Merauke of 0.44 percent, also lower than inflation in the national calendar.

nationwide amounted to 6.25 percent. While the year on year inflation in Merauke of 6.29 percent, also higher than inflation year on year.

Deflation in the town of Jayapura in October 2015 happened due to
decrease in prices of goods and services indicated by the decrease in
the index in the Group of expenses: food groups-0.82 percent. While the increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the Group clothing 0.63 percent; group transportation, communication and financial services 0.44 percent; the Group of education, recreation and sport 0.12 percent; group health 0.11 percent; food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 0.10 percent and the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel is 0.05 percent. Inflation in Merauke in October 2015 occurs due to an increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the Group of expenses: food ingredients Group 2.37 percent; group transportation, communication and financial services 1.34 percent; food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 0.70 percent; the Group obtained 0.50 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.01 percent.. While the Group spending has decreased the number of the index are: group health-0.72 percent and the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel-0.06 percent.
