A. General Description
Consumer Tendency index (ITK) is an indicator of current consumer economic development Central Bureau of statistics generated through Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is an index which describes economic conditions in consumer quarterly runs and upcoming quarterly estimates.
The number of samples of STK in Papua Province on the Quarter I-2016 as much as 180 households which is STK panel household Quarter IV-2015. The selection of the sample was done in panels between quarterly in order to obtain a more accurate picture regarding consumer perception changes between time. Respondents selected in STK strata blocks Census categories are based on wealth and high index and is the subsampel of the national socio-economic Survey (Susenas) specialized in urban areas.
B. Quarterly Consumer economic conditions I-2016
ü In Quarter I-2016, Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) Papua amounting to 99.78 which means consumer economic conditions are having a bit of a decline compared to the previous quarter's condition.
ü a little descent of the main consumer economic conditions caused by the fall in household income (value index 97.23). Although the influence of inflation against a relatively low rate of consumption (index value 103.58) so that the presence of a slight increase in the level of consumption (101.05 index value), but the level of optimismenya lower than Quarterly IV-2015.
C. Estimated Quarterly Consumer Economics II-2016
ü the value of ITK Papua in Quarter II-2016 estimated at 100.97. This indicates an increase in consumers ' economic conditions are expected to occur in the coming quarter.
ü Increase are expected to occur due to an increase in household income (101.57 index value) despite the decline followed by an estimate of the purchases of durable goods, recreational, and party/celebration by consumers (99.92 index value).
