Abstract

• In the first quarter of 2019, the Papuan Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) of 95.62, which means the economic condition of consumers has decreased compared to the condition in the previous quarter.

• The improvement in the economic condition of consumers is mainly due to the decline in all components, namely current household income (index value 95.58), the level of consumption of goods / services (index value 99.70), and the effect

inflation index to the level of consumption (index value 92.47).

• The value of Papuan ITK in the second quarter of 2019 is estimated at 105.24. This indicates that the economic condition of consumers in the coming quarter is expected to increase.

• The increase is expected to occur due to an increase in future household income (index value 119.03), although estimates of purchases of durable goods, recreation, and parties / celebration by consumers decline (index value 81.24)
