Abstract

§ Percentage, the poor population in Papua during the last six months undergoing a rise of 0.14 percent points from 28.40 percent in September 2015 be 28.54 per cent by March 2016.

§ Views according to the type of area, the poor population is concentrated in rural areas, by March 2016 as much 37.14 percent poor population live in rural areas while in urban areas only amounted to 4.42 percent.

§ Poverty line (GK) in urban areas by March 2016 of Rp 466.985,-higher than the GK village reached Rp 412.991. This means, the cost to meet the needs of a decent living minimum (basic needs) for the food and not the much larger food urban areas than in rural areas.

§ The role of commodity food against much bigger than GK role of commodities not food (housing, clothing, education, and health), namely 75.36 per cent compared to 24.64 percent.

§ Food Commodities influential against GK in urban areas is rice, cigarettes kretek filters and Cob/tuna/tuna. While the influential commodities against GK countryside is cassava, rice, vines cigarettes filter,

§ In the period January-March 2015 2016, Poverty Depth Index (P1) and the index of the severity of poverty (P2) show a very significant increase in tendency. This indicates that the average spending on the poor tend to increasingly move away from the poverty line and inequality spending on the poor population also increases.
