Abstract

A. General Description

Consumer Tendency index (ITK) is an indicator of current consumer economic development Central Bureau of statistics generated through Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is an index which describes economic conditions in consumer quarterly runs and upcoming quarterly estimates.

The number of samples of STK in Papua Province on the Quarter III-2016 is a household panel (similar to the sample STK Quarter II-2016). The selection of the sample was done in panels between quarterly in order to obtain a more accurate picture regarding consumer perception changes between time. Respondents selected in STK strata blocks Census categories are based on wealth and high index and is the subsampel of the national socio-economic Survey (Susenas) specialized in urban areas.

B. economic conditions Consumers Quarter III-2016

ü In Quarter III-2016, Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) Papua amounting to 112.09 which means consumer economic conditions has increased compared to its condition in the previous quarter.

ü Increased its main consumer economic conditions caused by increasing household income (118.28-index value). Although the influence of inflation against a relatively low rate of consumption (100.88 index value), a slight increase on the level of consumption (111.54 index value) so that the optimismenya level higher than Quarter II-2016.

C. Economic Estimates Consumer Quarterly IV-2016

ü the value of ITK Papua on Quarter IV-2016 estimated at 110.89. This indicates the condition of the consumer economy is expected to rise in the next quarter. The level of consumer optimism is expected to be higher than the quarter III-2016.

ü Improved economic conditions consumers on Quarter IV-2016 is estimated to occur due to an increase in household income (index value of 112.89) followed by an increase in the estimated purchases of durable goods, recreational, and party/celebration by consumers (107.38 index value).
