Abstract

EXPORT

Ø the value of exports in March 2017 Papua amounting to US $6,51 million or 2.41 percent decline when compared with its value in February 2017 which 6,67 million US $.

Ø Total exports of Papua in the period January-March 2017 lower 6.01 percent of its value in the same period the previous year, i.e. from US $297,91 million to $280,02 million.

Ø in March 2017 not recorded the presence of copper concentrate exports, while exports of Wood Wooden goods from & (HS44) recorded a US $6.07 million, exports of Other aquatic animals & Fish (HS03) worth US $0.01 million, Non oil and gas exports and the Other valued at US $0.43 million.

Ø cumulatively, non oil and gas exports during the period January-March 2017 recorded amounted to US $280,01 million or 6.01 percent decline when compared with the same period in the previous year which amounted to US $297,91 million. That is because the depreciation of the value of total exports of each of the items i.e. HS26 of 4.98 percent, HS44 of 17.28 percent, oil and gas, and Non of the other 12.33 percent.

Ø the export to the main Six Nations in March 2017 recorded US $1.69 million where export is only addressed to the country's export commodities with South Korea in the form of plywood. Three other countries which became the largest export destination was Saudi Arabia (US $2.74 million), Oman (US $1.64 million), and Papua New Guinea (US $0.26 million). The main commodities exported to the three countries respectively are plywood, plywood, and soft drinks.

Ø cumulatively, exports to the six major countries Papua in January-March 2017 compared to the same period in the year 2016 decline of IE 4.01 percent; Similarly, with exports to other countries dropped by 27.81 percent. Exports to the six countries the main Nani 93.55 percent to the total export of Papua in January-March 2017.


IMPORT

Ø the value of Papua in March 2017 imports reached US $30,52 million or down 13.29 percent when compared to imports in February 2017 are valued at US $35,20 million.

Ø Total cumulative imports Papua in January-March 2017 are valued at US $104,29 million or down 21.88 percent when compared to the total cumulative imports in January-March 2016 that is worth US $133,49 million.

Ø the value of imports of 10 major non oil and gas groups in March 2017 US $16,94 million or down 26.64 percent when compared to February 2017 which amounted to US $23,09 millions. The value of imports of the non oil and gas more experienced an increase of US $1.28 million (31.24 percent).

Ø cumulatively, the total value of imports of 10 major non oil and gas group in January-March 2017 also experienced a decrease of 36.42 percent, from US $105,18 million to $66,87 million. The non oil and gas imports 10 main Nani 64.12 percent to the total cumulative imports January-March 2017.

Ø the value of imports from the seven major countries in March 2017 are valued at US $7.29 million or decreased 20,11 percent compared to its value in February 2017. The country of origin of imported goods is greatest in March 2017 is Australia with import value of US $14,19 million (46.48 percent), followed by a State of the United States US $2.34 million (7.65 percent) and Singapore, US $2.12 million (6.94 percent).

Ø cumulatively, the value of imports from the seven major countries and other countries in January-March 2017 has decreased each of 23.24 percent and 17.55 percent compared with its value in January-March 2016 which amounted to US $101,44 million and 32,05 million us $.
