Abstract

In April 2019, the two CPI cities in Papua Province recorded a change in the different index numbers, where Jayapura City experienced a deflation of 0.26 percent and Merauke experienced inflation of 1.20 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) each of 140.90 and 140.12.

Jayapura City ranks 80th at the national level and 16th at the Sulampua level (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua), while Merauke ranks 2nd at the national level and 1 st at the Sulampua level.

Calendar year inflation in Jayapura City in April was 0.23 percent and year on year inflation (April 2019 to April 2018) was 4.88 percent. Inflation in the Merauke calendar year in April 2019 was -0.64 and year on year inflation (April 2019 against April 2018) was 1.48 percent.
