Abstract

 In May 2019, the two CPI cities in Papua Province recorded a change in the different index numbers, where Jayapura City experienced inflation of 1.13 percent and Merauke experienced a deflation of 0.49 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) each of 142, 49 and 139.44.

 Jayapura City ranks 16th at the national level and 9th at the Sulampua level (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua), while Merauke ranks 82nd at the national level and 18th at the Sulampua level.

 Calendar year inflation in Jayapura City in May 2019 was 1.36 percent and year on year inflation (May 2019 against May 2018) was 5.23 percent. The inflation of the Merauke calendar year in May 2019 was -1.12 and year on year inflation (May 2019 against May 2018) was 0.19 percent.
