Abstract

In August 2020, a combined 3 CPI cities in Papua recorded deflation of 0.20 percent or a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figure from 105.07 in July 2020 to 104.86 in August 2020.
The deflation that occurred in the 3 CPI cities in Papua was due to a decrease in the index in the food, beverage and tobacco category; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups; equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group; and health groups.
The combined calendar year inflation for the 3 CPI cities in Papua in August 2020 was 1.65 percent and year on year inflation (August 2020 against August 2019) was 1.66 percent.a
