DPD RI Delegation Visits BPS Papua to Discuss the Utilization of DTSEN
October 13, 2026 | Other Activities
Jayapura, October 2026 — Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Papua Province welcomed a delegation from the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), representing Papua Province, at its office on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. The meeting aimed to gather information for oversight purposes regarding the use of the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN) to support the distribution of education and healthcare assistance in Papua Province.
The meeting formed part of DPD RI’s oversight function concerning the implementation of legislation related to social welfare, the National Social Security System, and national education. Discussions focused on statistical data support, inter-agency coordination mechanisms, and the quality and updating of DTSEN to improve the accuracy of government assistance targeting.
The discussion also addressed data verification and validation procedures, measures to address errors in beneficiary targeting, and mechanisms for public complaints and data correction when discrepancies with actual socioeconomic conditions are identified. These aspects are essential to ensuring that the data accurately reflects the circumstances of communities and supports the effective distribution of government assistance.
In Papua Province, the availability of accurate, up-to-date, integrated, and accountable socioeconomic data is particularly important. Geographical conditions, population characteristics, and disparities in access to essential services across regencies and villages present challenges in ensuring that government assistance reaches those who need it most.
The findings from this meeting are expected to inform DPD RI’s further assessment and the development of policy recommendations for the government and relevant institutions. Through stronger coordination, BPS Papua Province and DPD RI aim to support improved data governance, enhance the targeting of education and healthcare assistance, and promote more equitable social welfare across Papua Province.
