in November 2015 CPI both cities in Papua Province recorded changes in
the same index number where the city of Jayapura and Merauke alike are
experiencing inflation. Jayapura experiencing Inflation 0.11 percent with consumer price index (CPI) Inflation experienced in Merauke and 121.78 2.35 percent with CPI of 127.38.
Ø From 82 city CPI recorded 69 cities suffered inflation (including the city of Jayapura and Merauke) and 13 city of deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke of 2.35 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Ternate of 0.02 percent. The biggest deflation occurs at the base of Pinang namely registration-1.02 percent and the deflation of the smallest occurred in Manado of 0.01 percent. Jayapura ranked-60 at the national level and no. 12 on the level of Sumapua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua). While the Merauke ranks first in the national level as well as at the level of Sumapua.

lower than the national inflation amounted to 0.21 percent. While monthly inflation Merauke of 2.35 percent, higher than the national inflation. The rate of inflation is the calendar year (January – December) Jayapura of 1.31 percent, lower than the national rate of monthly inflation amounted to 2.37 percent. While inflation in calendar Merauke of 2.81 percent, higher than inflation in the national calendar.

Inflation in Jayapura on November 2015 occurs due to an increase in the
price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the
Group of expenses: food ingredients group 0.41 percent; the Group obtained 0.09 percent; the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.07 percent; group health 0.04 percent; food group so, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco and education, recreation and sport each of 0.01 percent. While the decline in prices of goods and services indicated by the decrease in the index in the group transport, communication and financial services-0.09 percent. Inflation in Merauke in November 2015 occurs due to an increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the Group of expenses: food ingredients Group 4.97 percent; group health 2.47 percent; food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 1.33 percent; the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 1.24 percent; Group clothing 0.70 percent and education, recreation and sport 0.30 percent. While the Group spending has decreased the number of the index are: group transport, communication and financial services-0.02 percent.
