Abstract

Ø in March 2016 second city of CPI in Papua Province recorded changes of different index numbers where Jayapura experiencing Inflation while the Merauke deflation. Jayapura experiencing Inflation 0.30 percent with consumer price index (CPI) 125.08 and Merauke deflation-0.41 percent with CPI amounted to 128.07.

Ø From 82 city CPI recorded 30 cities suffered inflation (including the city of Jayapura) and 58 other cities suffered deflation (including Merauke). The highest inflation happened at Bukittinggi of 1.18 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Yogyakarta, Malang, Tangerang and Singkawang in which four city experienced inflation respectively amounting to 0.02 percent. While the biggest deflation occurred in tanjungpandan-1.22 percent and the deflation of the smallest occurred in Mamuju registration-0.02 percent. Jayapura ranked 21st at the national level and at the level of the third order Sulampua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua). While the Merauke ranked-78 at the national level and the seventh in order of level of Sulampua.

Ø monthly inflation rate of Jayapura of 0.30 percent, higher than the national monthly inflation of 0.20 percent. While the rate of monthly inflation of-0.41 Merauke percent, lower than the national inflation rate. The rate of inflation is the calendar year (January-March 2016) in Jayapura of 1.24 percent, higher than the national calendar year inflation of 0.62 percent. While inflation is the calendar year (January-March 2016) Merauke of 2.27 percent, lower than the rate of inflation in the national kaleder. Year on year inflation rate (March 2016 March towards 2015) Jayapura of 3.81 percent, lower than the inflation rate year on year nationwide amounted to 4.45 percent. While the year on year inflation in Merauke of 3.62 percent, lower than inflation year on year.

Ø Inflation in Jayapura on March 2016 occurs due to an increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the Group of expenses: food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 1.00 percent; food ingredients group 0.81 percent; the Group obtained 0.06 percent and education, recreation and sport 0.05 percent. While the decline in prices of goods and services indicated by the decrease in the index in the group health-0.31 percent and the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel-0.14 percent of the guests group transportation, communication and financial services were not changes the numeric index. Deflation in Merauke in March 2016 happened due to decrease in prices of goods and services indicated by the decrease in the index in the Group of expenses: food groups-1.37 percent; the Group obtained 0.52 percent and education, recreation and sport-0.15 percent. While the increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the group health 0.19 percent; the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.18 percent; group transportation, communication and financial services 0.14 percent and food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 0.09 percent.
