Abstract

þ the number of labor force in New Guinea in February 2016 reached 1,743,160 people, 1,215 people compared conditions increased August 2015.

þ Residents who work in New Guinea in February 2016 reached 1,691,432 persons, increased 18,952 people compared to August 2015 and increase 45,375 people than State a year ago (Feb. 2015).

þ the number of jobless in February 2016 of 51,728 people, reduced by 17,737 people compared to August 2015 and also reduced as much as 11,883 people than State February 2015.

þ During the past year, the unemployment rate is open (TPT) in Papua has decreased from 3.72 percent in February 2015 be 2.97 percent in February 2016. So also if compared with conditions August 2015 declined from 3.99 percent to 2.97 percent.

þ In the last six months (August 2016 – February 2016), the number of workers in the industrial sector, trade, restaurants, accommodation services, civic services and other sectors are experiencing a rise in the number of workers, but the agricultural sector suffered the downturn.

þ From total population 1,691,432 people working in February 2016 in Papua, most major job status is as unpaid workers/workers ' family (33.76 percent) followed by the status of labor assisted not strive/not paid (32 percent). As for the status of the work in other major which has a percentage above 10 per cent i.e. trying to own (11 percent), labor/employee (21 percent). The status of labor assisted trying stay/labor paid and the status of the non agricultural workers as well as non farm has a small percentage that is less than one percent.

þ in February 2016, the number of people working in over 35 hours per week (full time worker) in Papua was 1,040,066 people or about 62.3 percent of the total population that is working.

þ according to the highest level of education ditamatkan, workers in Papua is still dominated by workers with the highest level of education ELEMENTARY SCHOOL down the amount reached 1.69 million people (55.6 percent) in February 2016.

þ according to level of education, the highest 2016 March TPT in Papua in vocational high schools to reach 9.9 percent.
