In the last six months (August 2016 – February 2016), the number of
workers in the industrial sector, trade, restaurants, accommodation
services, civic services and other sectors are experiencing a rise in
the number of workers, but the agricultural sector suffered the downturn.

From total population 1,691,432 people working in February 2016 in
Papua, most major job status is as unpaid workers/workers ' family
(33.76 percent) followed by the status of labor assisted not strive/not paid (32 percent). As for the status of the work in other major which has a percentage above 10 per cent i.e. trying to own (11 percent), labor/employee (21 percent). The status of labor assisted trying stay/labor paid and the status of the non agricultural workers as well as non farm has a small percentage that is less than one percent.
