experiencing inflation. Jayapura experiencing Inflation 0.55 percent with consumer price index (CPI) Inflation experienced in Merauke and 126.84 0.27 percent with CPI of 130.76.

From 82 city CPI recorded 58 cities suffered inflation (including the
city of Jayapura and Merauke) and 24 other cities experiencing
deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga inflation amounted to 1.85 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in the Purwokerto and Banyuwangi, where both towns recorded each of 0.02 percent. While the biggest deflation occurred in Pontianak of – 1.06 percent and the smallest occurring in Kendari deflation of 0.01 percent. The city of Jayapura was ranked 16th at the national level and at the level of the third order Sulampua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua). While the Merauke ranked 28th nationally and the eighth in order of level of Sulampua.
Ø a monthly inflation rate of 0.55 percent Jayapura, higher than the national monthly inflation rate of 0.22 percent. While the monthly inflation rate of 0.27 percent, Merauke is also higher compared to the national rate of inflation. The rate of inflation is the calendar year (January – September 2016) in Jayapura of 2.66 percent, higher than the national calendar year inflation amounted to 1.97 percent.
While inflation is the calendar year (January-September 2016) Merauke
of 0.21 percent, lower than the rate of inflation in the national
calendar. Inflation rate year on year (September to September 2015 2016 against) city of Jayapura of 4.21 percent, higher than the rate of inflation year on year nationwide amounted to 3.08 percent. While the year on year inflation in Merauke of 6.14 percent, higher than inflation year on year.

Inflation in Jayapura in September 2016 occurs due to an increase in
the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in
the Group of expenses: food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 2.17
percent; group transportation, communication and financial services 1.46 percent; the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.11 percent and clothing group 0.07 percent. While the Group's spending decline was the Group of foodstuffs-0.28 percent; group health-0.11 percent; as well as educational, recreational and sport-0.02 percent. Inflation in Merauke in September 2016 occurs due to an increase in the price of goods and services indicated by the rise in the index in the Group of expenses: food group so, drinks, cigarette and tobacco 1.45 percent; group transportation, communication and financial services 1.92 percent and clothing 0.18 percent, while spending on the decline were a group of foodstuffs-0.57 percent; Health-0.11 percent and the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel-0.02 per cent
