A. General Description
Consumer Tendency index (ITK) is an indicator of current consumer economic development Central Bureau of statistics generated through Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is an index which describes economic conditions in consumer quarterly runs and upcoming quarterly estimates.
Samples of STK in Papua Province on Quarter IV-2016 is a household panel (similar to the sample STK Quarter III-2016). The selection of the sample was done in panels between quarterly in order to obtain a more accurate picture regarding consumer perception changes between time. Respondents selected in STK strata blocks Census categories are based on wealth and high index and is a sub sample of National socio-economic Survey (Susenas) Special
urban areas.
B. economic condition Consumer Quarterly IV-2016
In Quarter IV-2016, Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) Papua amounting to 112.47 which means rising consumer economic conditions compared to the previous quarter's condition.
the main condition of increase in the consumer economy caused by rising levels of consumption goods/services (119.69 index value) and household incomes (116.22 index value). Although the influence of inflation against the rate of consumption (somewhat pessimistic with 99.74 index value), but the level of the Community consumption was still able to ride.
C. Economic Forecasts Quarterly Consumer I-2017
Value ITK Papua in Quarter I-2017 estimated at 112.34. This indicates an increase in estimated consumer economic conditions will still happen in the next quarter, though not as big as optimismenya quarterly level IV-2016.
Increased are expected to occur due to an increase in estimated purchases of durable goods, recreational, and party/celebration by consumers (119.11 index value) and an increase in household income (108.48 index value).
