Papua Tengah Province Economic Growth Quarter 1-2025

The economy of Papua Tengah Province, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the first quarter of 2025, reached IDR 37,024.43 billion, and at constant 2010 prices, it amounted to IDR 20,512.96 billion. The economy of Papua Tengah Province, including the Mining and Quarrying sector, contracted by 25.53 percent (year-on-year) in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter in 2024. Excluding the Mining and Quarrying sector, it grew by 2.35 percent. From the production side, the deepest contraction occurred in the Mining and Quarrying sector with a decline of 32.82 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the sharpest contraction was recorded in the Exports of Goods and Services component, which fell by 54.55 percent. Quarter-on-quarter, the economy of Papua Tengah Province including the Mining and Quarrying sector contracted by 20.27 percent in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter. Excluding the Mining and Quarrying sector, it contracted by 3.25 percent. On the production side, the Mining and Quarrying sector experienced the deepest contraction at 25.50 percent. On the expenditure side, the Exports of Goods and Services component experienced the largest contraction at 34.34 percent. From the production side, the economic structure of Papua Tengah Province in the first quarter of 2025 remained dominated by the Mining and Quarrying sector, which contributed 73.00 percent. From the expenditure side, it was dominated by the Exports of Goods and Services component, contributing 35.64 percent.
